Chibo Tang has been investing in early stage companies in the technology and media sectors in China for over a decade. He is Head of Hong Kong, and manages the Alibaba Hong Kong Entrepreneurs Fund, for which Gobi is the exclusive General Partner. He’s led numerous investments including Airwallex, WeLab, Urban Revivo, Prenetics, GOGOVAN, Qupital, DayDayCook, AQUMON, and Sandbox VR.
Chibo is recognized in the industry as Silicon Dragon Venture Capitalist of the Year 2017, Global Corporate Venturing Rising Star 2019, Global Corporate Venturing Emerging Leader 2020, and is a member of The Tatler Tribe for Gen.T.
Chibo received his B.A. in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Harvard. He received his MBA from China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). Chibo began his career as strategy consultant with Monitor Group, focusing on ASEAN and MENA regions. He also spent time at Robert Bosch as Senior Manager of Corporate Strategy APAC. Chibo joined Gobi Partners China in 2009 and is currently a Partner based in Hong Kong.
