Catherine So is currently Managing Director of the North Asia region for Expedia Group brands and leads five key markets (Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Japan and Korea). She is responsible for the region’s performance, business strategy, local insights, market activation, as well as marketing, product and customer experience local relevancy- for Brand Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo/Homeaway.
So brings with her over 20 years of experience in the digital, e-commerce and media space, working across the Asia Pacific region, Greater China and the United States. Prior to joining Expedia Group, So was managing director of Groupon Hong Kong, one of the fastest growing e-commerce business in the region, covering three business verticals including Groupon Lead, Groupon Goods and Groupon Travel.
During her personal time, So enjoys playing tennis, swimming and hiking. She is also passionate about academic initiatives and has served as program director for the Hong Kong-Shanghai Future Young Leaders Internship Program and mentors several organizations including the Harvard Book Prize Mentorship program.
Based in Hong Kong, So speaks fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin, and holds a B.A with honours in economics from Harvard University. She is also on the board of the Hong Kong Travel Industry Authority (TIA).
